A rich heritage in the heart of NDC Resort
History of the NDC Resort and SPA
This story begins in 1975, when Loky Cipta Herlambang arrived in Manado. His arrival was driven by two strong motivations…
The first reason was to pursue and find the love in his heart; Loky had fallen in love with a woman from Manado whom he had met in Surabaya.
The second reason—motivated by the first—was his business instinct. Loky believed that Eastern Indonesia was a “fish-rich region,” an ideal place to start a business. He initially established his base in the Tomohon Village and Pondol areas (along Sam Ratulangi Street).
From there, he soon began his exploration.
Together with his colleagues, Loky discovered a “treasure” in the waters of Bunaken Island: a marine park with some of the richest and most vibrant biodiversity in the world. This remarkable discovery led to the establishment of Nusantara Diving Centre (NDC) in 1976 in Tomohon, making it the first diving organization of its kind in Manado.
